Welcome to Trenton Performance Consulting (TPC), a dynamic management consulting firm based in Madison, WI. Founded by Loren Kuzuhara, a University of Wisconsin-Madison business school professor, Trenton Performance Consulting operates on the core philosophy of producing effective and sustainable solutions, in order to maximize results. The focus of TPC is to partner with individuals, teams, and organizations to develop, implement, and sustain initiatives that will transform and enhance effectiveness and performance. At Trenton Performance Consulting, we have decades of experience, helping people and organizations to realize their potential. Our approach is strategic, innovative, and results-oriented.

THE LEGACY

The name of the firm, Trenton Performance Consulting is a tribute to George Washington and his Continental Army and their victory at the Battle of Trenton on December 26, 1776 during the American Revolutionary War. Although his soldiers were exhausted, inexperienced and demoralized, and their resources severely depleted, General Washington used what we refer to today as “systems thinking” to formulate and execute an action plan to win this battle based on a combination of strong leadership, a clearly defined and focused strategy for victory, an in-depth understanding of the strengths and vulnerabilities of the enemy, and discipline and coordinated execution of the strategy by his troops. Trenton Performance Consulting is committed to working as a partner with all of its clients through a similar emphasis on a systems approach to planning and executing strategy and change initiatives.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Loren Kuzuhara

Loren Kuzuhara (pronounced “koo-zoo-hara”) is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Management and Human Resources (MHR) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. He teaches courses in organizational behavior, leadership development, human resource management, management of teams, and management consulting. He has been the faculty director of the MHR Department’s summer internship program since 2000, and an instructor with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s International Internships Program. He was won multiple awards for teaching due to his passion and commitment to the learning, personal, and professional development of his students.

Loren has served as a performance excellence examiner for the Wisconsin Forward Award, the Robert Carey Performance Excellence Award Program run by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, and the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award, a program that is designed to enhance the global competitiveness of American companies. He has worked with numerous organizations to conduct employee opinion and engagement surveys and to assist management with developing appropriate solutions to address issues identified in the results of these assessments.

Loren has co-authored two books on organizational behavior and a book on team management. He is the president of the University of Illinois Psychology Alumni Advisory Board and a member of the Board for the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence.

Loren earned his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA and Ph.D. in Management and Human Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
